Zimnytskyi urine analysis is a urine test that is the fastest, most accessible, and most informative method for diagnosing the functional state of the kidneys, in particular, determining their ability to concentrate and excrete urine.
When the functions of concentrating and excreting urine in the body are impaired, the water balance is disturbed, the composition of the blood changes, and a general malfunction of the organ systems occurs.

How to prepare for the analysis?

There is no special preparation for a Zimnitsky urine test. Urine is collected during the day, 8 portions of urine must be collected. This will require 8 sterile containers. Before collecting urine, the child must perform a thorough toilet of the genitals. The day before the test, it is not recommended to consume foods that can change the color of urine (carrots, beets, rhubarb, bay leaves), salty and fatty foods. It is forbidden to take diuretics. You should eat and drink normally (drink at least 15.2 liters of fluid, including soups and jelly). The day before the test, you should stop taking any medications. You should not overcool or overheat.

The first portion of urine after waking up is not collected. Urine is collected every three hours in a separate jar:
from 9:00 to 12:00 in the morning;
from 12:00 to 15:00;
from 15:00 to 18:00;
from 18:00 to 21:00;
from 21:00 to 24:00;
from 0-00 to 3-00;
from 3:00 to 6:00 in the morning;
from 6:00 to 9:00 in the morning.

If there is no urge to urinate within three hours, the jar is left empty. Conversely, if the jar is full before the end of the 3-hour period (for example, with polyuria), the patient urinates into an additional container (but does not pour urine into the toilet).
On the day of the study, it is also necessary to measure the daily amount of liquid consumed, which is contained in food products.
Urine collected for analysis should be stored in the refrigerator. After collecting the last portion of urine, it must be delivered to the laboratory.
