How to prepare for the analysis?
Taking a bacteriological culture from the throat is performed on an empty stomach (it is forbidden to eat and drink). It is also not recommended to rinse the throat or carry out any therapeutic actions before seeding. A few days before the test, it is recommended to stop using various medications, including antibiotics. To collect biomaterial from the throat, the doctor uses a plastic stick with a sterile cotton swab on the end. With this stick, the doctor runs along the back wall of the throat. The procedure itself is painless, but a little unpleasant.
