Blood sugar test (Blood glucose)

What you need to know about analysis
Blood glucose is a test that shows the sugar content in the blood. This is a vital indicator, because glucose is the main source of energy consumed by the body (we get more than half of the energy we need through the oxidation of glucose).
Blood sugar levels are regulated by insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas. With age, due to a decrease in the sensitivity of tissues to insulin (due to the death of some insulin receptors or their loss of sensitivity), blood sugar levels increase.
This test may be ordered by doctors such as an internist, endocrinologist, cardiologist, pediatrician , or gastroenterologist to diagnose diabetes, control sugar levels, and assess overall health.
